I was browsing though a website when i saw this Google ad about exclusive discounts for technical students on Apple Notebooks in India.
Now this is an irresistible offer for technology enthusiasts like me. I clicked on the ad and was redirected to this website: http://macforstudents.netbiz.in/
To get the details of the offer, i had to fill in a simple contact form with details of my institution. Took me hardly 1 minute. After that i got a mail with the complete details of the offer, which can be seen in this screenshot:

But for those who want to avail this offer, hurry up as the offer is till 30th august only.

No joke, I swear. Indians are developing a laptop that will cost $10 that will run applications on higher education. What with the TATA Nano car priced at $2500, this cannot be a joke. The Indian Institute of Science at Bangalore and the Indian Institute of technology, Chennai are jointly involved on the ‘project’.

D. Purandeswari, Minister of State for Higher Education announced this project at Delhi. A statement like this obviously makes everyone suspicious, so when asked the config, they did not comment. This maybe made on government subsidy.
The project is based on the campaign National Mission in Education through ICT. The government is also creating devices of low power-consuming and low cost. As to internet access, government is trying to provide the bandwidth for free for educational purposes.
For the second most populated country on the planet, the internet access for the masses is low. Many organisations are trying to bring low cost laptops.
India did not sign for the OLPC program stating reasons of misuse and harmful in the analytical growth of the child. Can India do another TATA ?

Even i always wondered like any other man using an assembled computer that “Can’t I assemble a Laptop the same way?”The answer i have found is yes, i got an interesting article at famous site for hardware, Tomshardware
The article is located here
A must read for any hardware buff, or people crazy enough to assemble laptops for themselves, because one thing that’s pointed clearly in the article is that “it is not going to be cheap, as assembling a Desktop”.
