Apple iPhone 3G To Make Its Debut On August 22 In India

Posted on 08 August 2008 by allhailmike

After hours of wait for the Apple iPhone 3G, Airtel and Vodafone have decided to release the phone on August 22, a day before my birthday by the way. But what about the 3G part? Most applications on the iPhone work only if there is 3G available. In India, we need more visionary people.

Most probably, Vodafone will have an upper hand due to its global tie-up with Apple. As to the prices, people are still playing the guessing game. On the pre-registering days of the iPhone with Vodafone, it was slated to be of $199 and $299.

But why the hype? Simple, its touch sensitive screen is the best of there is in the cellphone world. Its sleek looks and lots of other features contribute to this.

Now where’s my birthday present?

Install Windows Vista On The Playstation 3

Posted on 07 August 2008 by allhailmike

Never knew anything wierder. Sony Playstation 3 seems to be a hub for all the softwares out there, whatever it may be. mopx0 has managed to install a Windows Vista OS on the Sony Playstation 3. Although the entire process is useless in the way that it takes 24 hours to install.

After the 24 hour install, it takes about 25 minutes for the Vista to boot. But still the system is damn slow, so think before you do something. You can also install windows xp on the Playstation 3 which is slightly faster.

Look at the video for more information.

Hack your way into iTunes store without a Credit Card

Posted on 04 August 2008 by Inferno

Feeling helpless that you cannot download free software for your iTouch/iPhone, just because you don’t have an iTunes account at iTunes store? Most of the users cannot do all this because iTunes require essentially a credit card for sign up.
But You can now do it all by creating a free iTunes account.

Here are the steps you can follow to create a Free iTunes account without a Credit Card:

  1. open iTunes and click on iTunes store from left panel.
  2. At the bottom page select My store as “United States”, the first option.
  3. When the page reloads completely, on the right hand side under Quick Links select “Redeem”.
  4. Now goto this site http://www.tunecore.com/freealbum . You will get a free Redeem code from there.
  5. Paste the Redeem code you got into the Redeem screen of iTunes. When you press “Redeem”, you will be asked to provide your Apple/AOL id. But in the bottom right of same window there will be an option to create new account.Click it.
  6. Now in the new window Enter your details and in the Payment options select None.
Note: While entering details you should note that you are being signed up as an United States citizen so you should provide your details according to that only .
In the name and address area, fill out anything as your wish. But the city, state, pin code and telephone nos. should be correct. I simply googled about all these details (remember google is one of the best tools of a wanna-be hacker). You can fill out these sample details:
    CITY: CAROL CITY
    STATE: FLORIDA
ZIP CODE: either 33055 or 33056

PHONE: there are two separated boxes. The first one is area code. Fill 305. After that you have to fill phone no. Type any 7 random numbers. :P
  7. Select the none option and click continue, and it’s done.

That’s how you hack your way into a totally FREE iTunes account without a Credit Card !

But Hurry Up as the FREE Redeem Coupon codes are being given away till 30th September only.

Posted on 03 August 2008 by allhailmike

Netshare from Nullriver is is a boon for many who are mobile whether they want to or not. If you people have already downloaded Netshare for $10 from the Apple Stores and are frustrated that you couldn’t figure out what the app was all about, well then seriously you need this tutorial.

Please note that this tutorial will not work on Mozilla Firefox 3. For better results, better use safari (obviously Apple friendly). Head over here for the tutorial.

Download Netshare

UPDATE: It seems some users cant see the download page for this app on the Apple Store. I do not know whats the problem, but will come out with a solution soon.

Fix The Red Ring Of Death Permanently On Your Xbox 360

Posted on 31 July 2008 by allhailmike

Almost everyone has suffered the fate. It could be you next. Just kidding. Wanted to start dramatically. Back to the RROD or known as the Red Ring Of Death. Just to be sure, if your console is still within the warranty period, you could send it to Microsoft for free service. For those who are not fortunate enough, we shall try this.

Its easy, all you need is some tools of domestic use. I bet you guys already across the ‘towel fix’ which is still doing the rounds on youtube. Anyway, serious problems calls for serious solutions. And this ain’t no exception.

Follow the video closely even if you have to have to watch it more than twice. This method has already been tested on 10 other Xbox 360s with RRODs.

360 Three Rings of Death FIX -REAL - video powered by Metacafe

If you can’t get the Xbox 360 up again, just take the fan out and overheat it and cool it for some time. This I reckon is temporary but you could do it again and again. Also, try this website as an alternate:

Indians Developing $10 Laptop, ZOMG!

Posted on 29 July 2008 by allhailmike

No joke, I swear. Indians are developing a laptop that will cost $10 that will run applications on higher education. What with the TATA Nano car priced at $2500, this cannot be a joke. The Indian Institute of Science at Bangalore and the Indian Institute of technology, Chennai are jointly involved on the ‘project’.

D. Purandeswari, Minister of State for Higher Education announced this project at Delhi. A statement like this obviously makes everyone suspicious, so when asked the config, they did not comment. This maybe made on government subsidy.

The project is based on the campaign National Mission in Education through ICT. The government is also creating devices of low power-consuming and low cost. As to internet access, government is trying to provide the bandwidth for free for educational purposes.

For the second most populated country on the planet, the internet access for the masses is low. Many organisations are trying to bring low cost laptops.

India did not sign for the OLPC program stating reasons of misuse and harmful in the analytical growth of the child. Can India do another TATA ?
